A guide for our guests visiting Armenia

Why Armenia :
Armenia holds a very special place in our hearts. It is a country rich in history, faith, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. It is also Roza’s Birthplace and where most of her family currently resides! We are incredibly excited to celebrate our wedding here and even more excited to share this experience with you.

Getting to Armenia:
International guests will arrive at Zvartnots International Airport
(EVN) in Yerevan. The airport is modern, easy to navigate, and located approximately 15-20 minutes from the city center.

Transportation:
Gg or Yandex Go Apps
GG or Yandex are the most reliable and commonly used ride-hailing apps in Armenia, similar to Uber or Lytt. We use it all the time!

  • Download the GG or Yandex Go app before arriving
  • Works seamlessly at the airport and throughout the city
  • Very affordable and safe
  • English interface available
  • Cash and card payments accepted

We strongly recommend using gg or Yandex instead of hailing taxis on the street.

Where to stay:
Most of the wedding events will take place close to Yerevan, however; staying within the city is ideal and what we recommend for all our guests.
Popular areas include:

  • Kentron (City Center)
  • Cascade Area
  • Northern Avenue

Hotels and Airbnb options are plentiful, clean, and reasonably priced.

Language
The official language is
Armenian, but don't worry:

  • Many people speak Russian
  • Younger generations often speak English
  • In hotels, restaurants, and gg or Yandex rides, English is usually sufficient

Currency & Payments
The local currency is the Armenian Dram (AMD).

  • Credit cards are widely accepted in the city
  • Cash is useful for small shops and cafés
  • ATMs are easily accessible
  • Exchange rates in Armenia are generally very fair

Food & Hospitality
Armenian hospitality is something truly special.
Expect:

  • Generous portions
  • Fresh ingredients
  • Grilled meats, breads, cheeses, and herbs
  • Incredible desserts and seasonal fruits

Do not be surprised if locals insist that you eat more.

Weather
June typically offers:

  • Very warm, sunny days
  • Cooler, windy evenings
  • Comfortable weather for walking and exploring

We recommend bringing light layers and comfortable walking shoes.

Wedding Event
We kindly request formal attire. Black tie is welcome but not required.
Group transportation for guests who request it will be shared closer to the wedding date.
Please reach out if you have any further questions.
